Wheatlands Farm Equestrian Centre is a family run business owned by Paddy and Liz Greenwood and run by their daughter Nicola Greenwood BHS Senior Accredited Coach in complete Horsemanship.  David their son, an engineer, is involved with the design and development of new facilities along with maintaining all the farm equipment needed to keep the business running smoothly.  Wheatlands Farm offers superb facilities in a safe, secure, friendly environment and provides excellent standards in horse care. Wheatlands Farm will continue to evolve and develop to provide facilities to appeal to riders in all disciplines.

Established in 1994, Wheatlands Farm in Finchampstead is a friendly and relaxed Livery Yard set in 130 acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside offering excellent facilities, instruction and competitions. A range of services are on offer at Wheatlands Farm, aiming to meet your needs and those of your horse.

Our Staff.

Our staff here at Wheatlands Farm are chosen for their calm, confident handling of the horses, paying attention to detail and producing high standards of care. The staff also have the opportunity to train for BHS exams.

About Nicola.

Nicola is a BHS Senior Accredited Coach and also holds the UKCC3. She teaches adults and children at all levels increasing confidence and competence whilst helping them to achieve their individual goals.

Nicola studied at Talland and Warwickshire college and has been teaching since 1992.  She gives instruction in all disciplines here at Wheatlands Farm and on request at various local /BE Cross Country venues.

Nicola is a BHS Access and Bridleways Officer covering Wokingham, lobbying the local Council for new and improved rights of way throughout the Borough. She is also the BHS Specialist Trustee for Access, in this role Nicola hopes to help with all matters relating to access throughout the UK.  She believes that a UK wide, cohesive bridleway network is the key to protecting the future of Equestrianism.

The Facilities.

Wheatlands Farm offers excellent facilities including; a 60m x 30m waxed Activ-Track arena with a set of Jump for Joy Show Jumps all year round and a 50m x 25m waxed Activ-Track arena with mirrors for flatwork.  

During some summer months, the set of Timber BSJA standard jumps is set up on grass.  

Use of the Ecotrack lunge arena and the covered horse walker are included in the livery, plus hacking in the Wheatlands Farm woodland and around the hay fields.  

Six Cross Country courses with fences from 30cm to 1m, two water jumps, ditches and banks, one with steps and drops, are open for schooling between Spring and Autumn.

We have plans to construct more ditches and possibly more steps in the future.
